Sand mixing, handling and reclamation – a host of no bake equipment on display

Highlighting the foundry process from mixing through to reclamation, Omega Sinto Foundry Machinery Ltd was able to display the company’s wide range of efficient and reliable solutions for 21st century cast metals production methods at this year’s GIFA exhibition in Germany in June.

The busy stand in Hall 17 gave customers the option to see existing equipment and a range of new products developed recently to offer solutions to current issues, all aimed at future-proofing the foundry environment.

The following pieces of equipment attracted attention from what was a very busy GIFA for the Omega Sinto team:

•         435AB mixer – 3M Jib.

•         305P mixer.

•         LL12.

•         Vator 12 vibratory sand elevator.

•         G12 cooler classifier.

•         DP200 pneumatic conveying pressure vessel.

•         0.3G thermal unit.

•         Omega foundry VAC.

•         RSM-robotic sand milling cell.

•         Chromite separation plant – demo unit.

•         Single sand gate and Smart Gate.

The new products on display were the Omega New Smart Gate, USMX mixer, and the Omega RSM ‘robot sand milling’.

3D display

In addition to a sample range of equipment on display, a 3D model was also a feature of their stand. Designed with a view of providing customers with a visual of a complete foundry layout, showcasing Omega Sinto’s turn-key capabilities as a company – from design, planning through to execution, installation and after-sales support – the 3D model was a real talking point, attracting a lot of attention.

As part of the 3D model display, QR codes inked interested parties to 3D animations, providing a more detailed insight into how the Omega Sinto equipment works. The following was included in the 3D model display:

  • Size 5.5 Fast Loop moulding line (based on a project in Poland) with 360AB mixer, flood-coat, flame-off and autocloser.
  • Pouring/cooling showing a standard solution plus vertical stacking system (stacking system based on WEIR project in the UK)
  • 4000x4000mm reclamation, 20tph shakeout system with HL unit, G-Cooler and Dense Phase PV.
  • 3000x3000mm Shuttle moulding system with 320AB Underslung hydraulic jib mixer (based on a project completed for a customer in Turkey).
  • Manual core making loop with 310p mixer (based on a project in Turkey).
  • Large thermal PX9G (based on a project for a customer in USA).

A great success

Omega Sinto reported that the event met their expectations. In a statement they said: “We felt that the event was a success with a large number of our current customers visiting the stand, and we gained a significant number of new leads. The layout we opted for the Omega machines gained a lot of interest as it showed the foundry process from mixing through to reclamation.”
