Plant manager - Dronfield (UK)

Elkem Dronfield produces Tenbloc® Inserts through a unique powder metallurgical production process, resulting in homogeneous and tightly sized controlled inserts. Sales are done through Elkem’s extensive Global Sales Organization. Elkem Dronfield has 18 employees. The production site is located in Dronfield, close to Sheffield, in the United Kingdom.

We are looking for an enthusiastic plant manager with good organization - and people - skills. 

Areas of responsibility: 

  • Responsible for the plant reaching our EHS goals of zero incidents for the welfare for our employees, owners and local environment/community.
  • Responsible for having all plant processes under control and the further development of the plant in line with Elkem Foundry’s strategy.
  • Continuous improvement and development of processes and equipment. This also includes developing the competency of the plant’s employees.
  • Actively contribute to the plant’s growth strategy, including budget responsibility for this unit.
  • Daily operation and development of the plant in accordance with Elkem Business System.
  • Medium/Long term Production planning in line with sales. Follow up with Elkem Foundry Sales organization to investigate and develop new opportunities.
  • Report to Elkem Dronfield Ltd. Board of Directors 

Qualifications required for the position: 

  • Preferred: University/College education. Can be compensated by relevant experience.
  • Extensive leadership experience with documented results.
  • Excellent communications skills and good at motivating your co-workers.
  •  Familiar with EBS and able to lead in accordance with its principle of involvement, respect, precision and focus on continuous improvement.
  •  Excellent skills in English, both oral and written.
