Piero Starita is the new president of Amafond, the Italian national foundry association which brings together suppliers of machines, products and services for the foundry sector.
Starita is the foundry sales and business development advisor of Laviosa Chim Mineraria Spa. He is no stranger to Amafond having already served as president from 2008 to 2012.
There are four vice presidents - Francesco Tieghi (CEO Fomet Srl), Ciro Radice (vice president IMF Group) Maurizio Sala (president Foundry Ecocer Srl) and Amedeo Mazzon (sales manager F.lli MAzzon Spa).
Amafond represents 95 of the most important companies in the sector in Italy with a turnover of €1.4m, 75 per cent of which is acquired from export.
