Digital application and intelligent development of high efficiency diecasting manufacturing

With the theme of ‘Digital application and intelligent development of high efficiency diecasting manufacturing’, CHINA DIECASTING and the concurrent exhibition CHINA NONFERROUS were held in Shanghai New International Expo Center on 15-17th July 2020. Industry leading technologies and products were displayed at the exhibition, and hot topics such as market conditions and lightweight solutions for the automotive sector were the main focus for the onsite events. In addition to the onsite exhibition, digital support allowed those people unable to attend because of global travel restrictions, to take part remotely.

CHINA DIECASTING 2020 attracted a total of 262 exhibitors from nine countries and 11,986 trade visitors from around the world. Two congresses and twelve onsite events were held, including one themed event, four casting product displays and competition events. In addition 61 speeches and reports were delivered.

Whole supply chain

The event focused on the world’s advanced technology, equipment and mainstream products in the field of non-ferrous metals and diecasting, with those companies participating including: Bühler China, Yizumi, Beijing Jingdiao, Dalian Yaming, Dong Guan Jingming, NACHI-FUJIKOSHI, UBE, Strikowestofen, BOHMER and IDRA. Exhibitors showed a positive attitude to the market and were keen to share information about new products, new technology and new applications. Although affected by the global pandemic situation, Japanese diecasting enterprises still supported the event with 21 well-known Japanese companies jointly appearing in the Japan Pavilion, highlighting the high quality of Japanese diecastings.

Intelligent and digital application display

With the upgrading of smart workshops and e-information applications, intelligent manufacturing has become a new method for companies to improve management and application, and explore emerging markets. This year’s CHINA DIECASTING placed digital application and intelligent development of highly efficient diecasting manufacturing at the centre of the event. The white paper of digitalisation application and diecasting smart factory introduced the digital and intelligent production of the industry, including intelligent equipment, numerical simulation, and application cases of digital factories. The objective was to provide ideas for upgrades in the sector.

Events focused on industry hotspots

Two congresses and twelve onsite events were held at the exhibition site. Discussions on hot topics such as intelligence, lightweight, low pressure gravity etc. offered additional high-quality industry information.
 
15th China International Die Casting Congress and 6th China Symposium on Non-ferrous Alloys and Special Casting Technologies

In the theme of ‘Innovative development and practical application of non-ferrous alloys and diecasting technologies’, the congress had invited experts from famous automakers such as Ford, Dongfeng Motor, GM; outstanding diecasting producers such as Hongtu Technology, Dalian Yaming, IKD; and leading research institutes such as Tsinghua University and Harbin Institute of Technology. Hot topics such as digitalisation application, intelligent manufacturing, new materials development and application were discussed.

Release conference – innovative products and technologies

Following expert review, ten innovative technologies and products were selected for the 2020 Innovative Products Award.

Theme day, experts gather together 

Mould Manufacturing Day, Overseas Market Day, Auto-Tech Day, Seminar on Magnesium Casting Technology and Seminar on Low Pressure & Gravity Casting Technology included invited companies and research institutes such as Ford China, Dongfeng, GF, IDRA, Beijing Jingdiao Group, MAGMA, Eaton China, Techno Wave, Visi-trak, HYSH, Jiangsu University. 

Diecasting display for inspiration

To help diecasting enterprises expand application fields such as medical, communications, 3C, CHINA DIECASTING 2020 added high-quality casting appreciation, and non-ferrous casting classification display as part of the Best Diecasting Competition and Japan Diecasting Parts Display.

80 castings from 50 enterprises participated in the Best Diecasting Competition. Four gold award castings and ten excellent castings were selected from those exhibiting.

Online viewing channels

While affected by the global pandemic, CHINA DIECASTING 2020 still attracted 11,986 viewers and 240 purchasing groups from diecasting and related industries such as accessories for automobiles and motorcycles, electronics, electrical appliances, mechanical and electrical instrument, electric tool, architectural fittings, light fixtures, toys etc.

To share the highlights of the exhibition with additional global professionals, there were a number of multi angle viewing methods:

  • Online hall: convenient for buyers to check exhibitors and products.
  • Photo gallery: capturing moments.
  • Live broadcast: inviting industry experts to connect with remote viewers.
