Foundry Manager - Saudi Mechanical Industries

SMI specializes in fluid flow and control equipment’s (in particular vertical turbine pumps), engineered components and steel and bronze bars. The company supplies Saudi blue-chip companies in sectors ranging from oil and gas and agribusiness to infrastructure and mining. In addition to its Saudi client base, the company is a key supplier to European clients and leading US manufacturers.
SMI owns the full value chain of production from design and engineering to casting, machining, assembly, testing, distribution, installation, maintenance and end-to-end field services. This gives SMI an advantage in time to market, cost, quality and overall execution capability.


•  To achieve foundry goals by maximizing resources available in a safe and environmentally responsible manner that will enable customer agreed requirements to be consistently met.

•  To develop and sustain an atmosphere of continuous improvement in line with the company’s Vision, Mission and Values, in addition to the Company’s Business Plan.

•  To coordinate all foundry operations within the plant.

•  To liaise with the Melting and Planning Department to pass on relevant cast information.

•  Will be responsible for submitting detailed production related reports on a monthly basis to the operations manager.

Qualifications and Skills

•  It is essential that the person has a technical qualification, preferably to Degree/HNC/HND in metals/material sciences or an equivalent subject.

•  The person should be experience in Production Management level in a progressive ferrous foundry and ferrous castings foundry industry.

•  Experience of various DISA moulding machines.

Contract Terms

•  Permanent Full Time Contract of Employment. The Contract is for 2 years and will be reviewed at the end of 24 month period with an option for continuation.

•  Period of Notice: Three months

•  Personal Taxation: Tax free position. Any home based tax issues to be organized by the candidate.

•  Bonus: A discretionary bonus usually will be payable annually subject to personal and company performance.

•  Car: A fully expensed company car.

•  Accommodation: Fully furnished accommodation to be provided free of charge, including all utilities (personal telephone costs are excluded).

•  Flights: Initial arrival (start of employment contract) and final departure (end of employment) as well as 4 return airline tickets annually.

•  Status Single/married status -negotiable

•  Medical Insurance: Medical coverage whilst in Saudi Arabia

.• Holidays: Up to 6 weeks paid holiday during the year with a maximum of three weeks duration for each trip.
